The power connectors that were shipped with the device have a small light at the end of the connector which lights up when the power connector is connected properly. The power connecter can be inserted in either direction and charge the tablet. When using a non-OEM power connector, the small light is not on the end of the connector and you must turn the tablet on and verify the power connection by looking at the plug symbol next to the battery in the left corner.
